How are online lessons conducted?

Lessons are conducted over WhatsApp Video Call, Zoom, Google Meet or another suitable video conferencing app.

I would like to start learning, but I don't know where to buy my instrument. Can you help?

Yes. There are places that we can refer you to where you will receive assistance in successfully purchasing your first instrument.

Will I need my own instrument before I start lessons?

Yes. You will be required to have your own instrument in order to practice the work given to you at home. This will help further your progress.

Do you teach beginners?

Yes. We offer lessons to beginners from the age of 5 onwards as well as teenagers and adults.

I'm a pensioner. Do you give lessons to pensioners?

Yes. We offer lessons to pensioners as well.

Do you teach how to read music notation?

Yes. We teach traditional music notation as well as tablature for guitar and bass.

Can I have more than one lesson a week?

Yes. Lessons can be more than once a week. Speak to a teacher to work out a lesson arrangement that works best for you and your needs.

Will I need to bring my own instrument to the lessons?

All piano and keyboard students will use instruments provided at the studio. All guitar and bass students will need to bring their own instruments and any gear that goes with it, including cables, amplifiers, tuners, etc.

Do you offer group classes, or is it only one-on-one?

All lessons are tailored to the student's individual progress and, henceforth, lessons are strictly one-on-one.

How do I go about registering?

A formal contract is signed by the student/parent/guardian on the first lesson which lays out the terms and conditions of the school and serves as proof of registration to the Andrew Miller Music School.
